for the love of the holidays

You know how I love these!!
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Egg Nog - so many calories (i.e points) but sosososo yummy!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? wraps - I totally don't get the not wrapping thing - isn't the point of christmas to rip off the wrapping paper and see what you got????

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored large bulbs

4. Do you hang mistletoe? If I have it - yes but we have none in the house right now!

5. When do you put your decorations up? The weekend after Thanksgiving

6. What is our favorite holiday dish? desserts - desserts - and more desserts (and my mom's homemade stuffing is a super close second)

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? the christmas that we got everything cabbage patch dolls - from the swing to the clothes to the dolls themselves - it was literally everything cabbage patch!

8 . When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? honestly - I don't remember but I do remember finding the presents in Ryan's closet one year. They were covered by a sleeping bag all unwrapped and when mom asked me to go get something from his closet I lifted up the sleeping bag and saw all the presents. Not sure if I knew santa was real or not at this point but I really have this as the most vivid memory! (plus I have always been a peeker - although I am much better in my older age).

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? nope - how could we if santa hadn't come yet!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Growing up - we didn't decorate the tree - it was mom's thing so it had very expensive and beautiful ornaments that we couldn't touch. As an adult we do it together as a family and it has more family friendly stuff on it!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? DREAD IT!!!!!!!!!! Totally hate it - 100%

12. Can you ice skate? Yes but not very well!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? as a child - it was my Teddy Ruxpen as an adult it was my Canon Digital Rebel that I got last year!

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? I love getting just the perfect gift for everyone! It makes me so awesome to get everybody everything they want (even if it means going broke)!

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? my dad's secret receipe sugar cookies (see picture at side)

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? The cookie exchange - it's one of my absolute favorite things and I'm very fortuante that we do a really kick ass one with Lindsey's family.

17. What tops your tree? nothing - we have been on the hunt for a tree topper for several years now!

18. Which do you prefer- giving or Receiving? I know the right anwer should be giving but honestly who doesn't love to receive!

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? All by nat king cole...

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Depends - not 100% either way - sometimes I could take em and sometimes I can leave em!

this blog is devoted to nikki and the blog above is devoted to e and family!

Just a heads up!

23 days left

Can't believe that it is actually December - that means we all need to get our asses in gear and start shopping! I'm actually pretty ahead of the game this year - being unemployed in the month of November had it's benefits and actually helped me get most of my christmas shopping done! I have very little left to do - I actually need to make a list of who else I need to buy for since it's all starting to run together now.

Right now I'm getting ready to head out to a Community Christmas Fair at our local church. Gotta love those little old ladies that do all that baking and then sell it and their crafts for cheap! Plus they are all so sweet - I'm really hoping to find some great deals!!!

Last night we took e to the circus for the very first time. He had a good time but it was a lot for him to take in. And he was pretty tired since it ran an hour and a half past his bedtime (and even though he went to bed late he still got up this morning at 4:30am - thankfully I got him to fall back to sleep until 6am). I'm going to download my circus pictures and then post a few!

I am trying to include a practice photo in this post - this picture of eli was taken last month during our pumpkin picking trip!

Enjoy!
